Join us on Saturday, January 21st, as we gather to consider the timely nature of contemplative spirituality and the art of discernment rooted in the creative love of God.
In the 1960’s the Jesuit theologian Karl Rahner famously insisted that, “the Christian of the future will be a mystic or will not exist.” Today, as distortions of Christianity which emphasize culture wars, certainty, and tribalism increasingly alienate those looking for something curious, rooted, and integrated—perhaps Rahner’s insight is materializing? In response, what if recovering the forgotten ways and sensibilities of the faith could lead to a creative renaissance within the sacred ordinary? What if the rhythm, dance, and play of the Spirit in our lives and textured stories offers more than enough vitality for a lifetime of loving union with God and faithful presence in our community?
