In the 1960’s the Jesuit theologian Karl Rahner famously insisted that, “the Christian of the future will be a mystic or will not exist.” Today, as distortions of Christianity which emphasize culture wars, certainty, and tribalism increasingly alienate those looking for something curious, rooted, and integrated—perhaps Rahner’s insight is materializing?
